Wow I just came to my blog and saw that I haven't blogged in almost two months, where does the time go? I'll be nice and only tell you about my trip and save the rest for another time.
Oh and I do have a freebie for you, hope you like it.
In June I went to Las Vegas with my daughter Michelle, son-in-law Todd and granddaughter's Madeline and Kimberly. Who would've thought that there would actually be enough to do with kids there. I thought it would be mostly gambling and nightlife things, not so.
Well to start with we went because Michelle had a lawyers conference there and she was one of the speakers. So Todd, the girls and I would go out mornings walking with both girls in the stroller and we did walk. But what a great way to see Las Vegas. We went to the M&M store one morning, spent way too much on M&M's. Would you believe they were $11.99 a pound, heck I could've stayed home and gotten a one pound bag for about $3.00. No we didn't know the price until we went to check out. See you can pick and choose the colors that you want, therefore you pay the price. We left there with $187.00 worth of M&M candies, shirts and stuffed animals, we really got sucked into that one.
The next day we headed out and went to the aquarium which was almost 3 miles from the hotel and we walked it with the girls in the stroller, boy they had it easy. The aquarium was well worth it even after that long walk. The best is when you walk through the tunnels with the fish swimming all around you. Of course Madeline wanted a souvenier, I told her that I would let her get something very small so she settled on a necklace, good that was easy.
Okay now we find the Secret Garden the next day at the Mirage, Seigfried and Roy's place. Wow what a garden of Lions, tigers, llama's, a panther and I think Madeline and Kimberly's favorite the dolphins. What a great place to take kids. The animals were beautiful and we really enjoyed watching them feed and play with the dolphins.
The rest of the week we didn't spend as much on things to bring home, heck we only had so much room in suitcases right, Wrong!! We then went to Circus Circus and inside there it's like a carnival, all types of Carnival games for the kids to play, including Todd and I LOL. At one game I had Kimberly sitting on my lap as I was rolling balls to make my horse move across to beat the other 11 players, no luck. But we did play again, I rolled three balls and I don't know if Kimberly thought she could do better or what, after all she was only 2 years old the end of April. Well guess what she did it, she beat the other 11 players. Now we have her stuffed animal that she won plus a few others that Todd and Madeline won. Okay so now we say, how the heck are we going to fit these into the suitcases and we still have 2 more days in Vegas.
After each of these morning trips we had the girls rest and then it was off to the pool until it was time to get ready for dinner.
To round out the week Todd bought Madeline and I tickets to go to Cirque du Soleil. Oh wow what a show. Madeline sat on the edge of her seat the whole time, I myself had to refrain from doing the same. If you ever get a chance to see this show make sure you go. I know I wouldn't think twice about going again, so worth it. Oh and I bought Madeline a mask, I know no more souveniers, really that was the last one. Well for the kids, I still had to buy stuff to bring home for friends and I did and we did get it all into the suitcases and backpacks. I'm surprised the zippers held on everything.
So that about sums up our week in Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps, but we definitely slept well at the end of each day.
